# IL - Parking Meters

<figure><img src="/files/ktP6qEUzhZlN9RzaIrnB" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

IL-ParkingMeters turns every parking meter on your map into a low-effort, high-frequency crime opportunity — the kind of quick, repeatable street crime QBCore servers are missing between big heists. It's built to feel like a real risk/reward loop, not a single scripted animation: fail too many times in a row and the meter trips a loud, exact-location alarm; succeed too often too fast and rate limiting shuts you down; hit the wrong block and you're in a police-restricted zone; hit the right one and you're in a bonus-payout zone.

**Highlights:**

* 🔓 **Configurable break-in method** — require a lockpick item, a `qb-minigames` skill-check, or both at once
* 🎭 **Real animation, not a static prop** — a looping tinker animation with a screwdriver prop attached to the player's hand for the whole attempt, not just a floating progress bar
* 🚨 **Two-tier police response** — a quiet, vague silent-alarm chance on every successful rob, and a separate loud alarm (via `xsound`, with an exact-location blip for on-duty LEO) that trips after too many failed attempts in a row
* 🗺️ **Zones** — mark areas as fully restricted (no robbing near the police station) or bonus payout zones (richer downtown blocks pay more), each with independent map-blip/radius visibility toggles
* ⏱️ **Full pacing control** — per-meter cooldown, per-player cooldown, and a rolling rate limit (max robs per time window) to stop one player farming the whole map
* 💾 **Persistent player stats** — total meters robbed, cash earned, failed attempts, and alarms tripped, saved to the database per character and viewable with `/meterstats`
* 🛠️ **Tool risk** — configurable chance the lockpick breaks on use, on top of an optional flat consume-on-use setting
* ⚙️ **Everything configurable** — every message, timer, chance, and reward range lives in two fully-commented config files, no code editing required

A lightweight, self-contained addition to any QBCore server's street-crime economy — no heavy dependencies beyond what most servers already run.
